需具备大量定量与计算成分的专业背景；理想申请者拥有物理学或天体物理学或其他自然科学本科学位，并具备大量定量成分和基础物理模块；至少掌握一种编译语言（首选 C 或 C++）的编程技能；具备本科水平的数学知识（线性代数、微积分、统计学）。
A field involving substantial quantitative and computational components; ideal applicant has an undergraduate degree in Physics or Astrophysics or another natural science with substantial quantitative components and introductory physics modules; strong programming skills in at least one compiled language (preferably C or C++); knowledge of undergraduate-level mathematics (linear algebra, calculus, statistics).
